1. Plywood is a board made from softened logs that have been steamed and boiled, sliced into large sheets, and then the fibers of each sheet are placed perpendicular to each other, bonded with water-resistant synthetic resin adhesive, and then subjected to pressure, drying, sawing, and surface finishing. The number of layers is odd, usually 3-13 layers, and they are called plywood, plywood, etc. The tree species used to make plywood include oak, birch, water chestnut, beech, colored wood, eucalyptus, etc.
2. Fiberboard is a board made by crushing, soaking, and grinding waste materials such as bark, shavings, and tree branches into wood pulp, followed by pressure molding and drying treatment. Due to different temperatures and pressures during molding, it can be divided into three types: hard, semi-rigid, and soft.
3. Particle board is a board made by pressing wood shavings or wood fiber materials with or without adhesive. Particle board has a low density and uniform material, but is prone to moisture absorption and has low strength.
4. Fine woodworking board is a type of artificial board made by shaping, planing, gluing, splicing, and veneering waste generated during the wood processing. The core of the board is usually made of short and fully dried wooden strips, and the surface is made of single-layer thin wood or plywood. Joinery board is not only an effective measure for comprehensive utilization of wood, but also produces boards with uniform structure, stable size, large size, and thick thickness. In addition to surface decoration, it can also be used as a construction material.
5. Regarding the production of artificial boards: The raw materials used for artificial boards, except for plywood which requires logs, mostly come from logging and processing residues, as well as small-diameter materials (with a diameter of less than 8 centimeters). The sheet-like, strip-shaped, needle shaped, and granular materials made by crushing or slicing and then crushing can be used in the manufacturing of particleboard. Wood chips are used for fiberboard manufacturing after fiber separation. This can increase the utilization rate of wood by 20-25% compared to traditional utilization methods. Since the 1970s, attention has been paid to using bark and sawdust as raw materials for artificial boards. However, bark can only be used in the middle layer of particleboard, and the dosage cannot exceed 8%, otherwise it will reduce the strength of the product. In addition, non wood materials are increasingly being valued. In addition to sugarcane bagasse, hemp stalks, and other materials that have already been utilized in the production of artificial boards, they have been expanded to include various plant stems and seed hulls.
